Abstract: Online management of components is crucial to many engineering applications. This talk firstly examines this problem in finance on portfolio management with the objective for the minimization of risks and the maximization of profits. Some recent results by us using online optimization to compute the results timely and accurately will be reported. Finally, I will show the connections between portfolio management and other component management problems, including wine blending management in food engineering and iron ore blending management in heavy industry.
嘉賓簡介：
Bio: Shuai Li received the B.E. degree in precision mechanical engineering from the Hefei University of Technology, Hefei, China, in 2005, the M.E. degree in automatic control engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, in 2008, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ, USA, in 2014. He is currently an Associate Professor (Reader) with Swansea University, Swansea, Wales, U.K., leading the Robotic Laboratory, conducting research on robot manipulation and impedance control, multi-robot coordination, distributed control, intelligent optimization, and control, and legged robots.
