TheCarConnection.com Gets Face-Lift
PALO ALTO, Calif. — High Gear Media recently revamped and again launched its primary automotive site, TheCarConnection.com, to better serve consumers.
Site officials explained a major difference about their portal from others is that it can organize and display more than 2 million separate pieces of automotive content from around the Web. These pieces of information can vary from expert and user reviews, question and answer sessions and video clips.
Furthermore, TheCarConnection.com offers original content and reviews from its staff of almost 200 contributors who have been published in platforms such as Car and Driver and AOL Autos. One of the highlights is what the site touts as "meta-reviews." Officials explained these reviews blend the author's expertise with quotes and opinions from other industry insiders.
"Users get a simple, easy-to-understand picture of a car from multiple sources, written with their point of view in mind. No one else is as comprehensive or complete," site officials contend.
TheCarConnection.com also includes new-vehicle pricing information from TrueCar. The information package also incorporates what TrueCar calculates as "actual dealer cost." Another pricing feature titled "Car Compare" can allow users to set filters to search for vehicles based on segment, cost and other features.
High Gear Media mentioned that the revamped TheCarConnection.com is designed to augment its stable of other automotive Web sites, which include MotorAuthority.com, GreenCarReports.com, AllCarsElectric.com and FamilyCarGuide.com.
"Combining these pieces in a new and easy to use experience is a fantastic win for car shoppers looking for answers — and for advertisers looking to reach audiences making car-buying decisions," Jeff Birkeland, vice president of product management for High Gear Media.
"Car shoppers consistently say they want a way to see a variety of opinions all in one place," said Ido Green, High Gear Media's chief technology officer.
"We address this direct consumer need with aggregation technology we've developed that that helps users makes sense of over 2 million pieces of content from the very best sources around the Web," Green continued.
"This, combined with our efforts in original content create an unbeatable experience for car shoppers everywhere," Green concluded.
