COSTA MESA, Calif. — Analysts from NADAguides.com recently picked their latest Car of the Month. The choice for March was a vehicle that's gained considered consumer interest during the last several weeks — the 2011 Hyundai Sonata.

When making the selection, site analysts described the vehicle as the most innovative and fun-to-drive sedan Hyundai has ever built. NADAguides.com contends the sixth generation of the Sonata can deliver style, fuel economy, technology and safety at an affordable price and tops most of the other vehicles in this competitive segment.

The site mentioned that the vehicle was designed in the U.S. at the Hyundai Design Center in Irvine, Calif. It prompted officials to call the Sonata "nearly as American as Ford, General Motors or Chrysler," because it's built at an assembly plant in Montgomery, Ala.

NADAguides.com pointed out that the entry level Sonata comes in three trim options — the GLS, SE and the Limited.

"The Fluidic Sculpture design gives the Sonata a Teutonic and pronounced look," the site contended.

Analysts went on to highlight that Bluetooth technology is standard on all models and touch-screen navigation is an option on the SE and Limited. They also said steering-wheel-mounted controls are standard and the SE and Limited both come with proximity key/push start and fun-to-use paddle shifters. Heated seats are available in the Limited model.

NADAguides.com explained that the Sonata's efficient 2.4L gasoline direct injection (GDI) 4-cylinder engine can produces a class-leading 198 horsepower. With a dual over head cam 16-valve with dual continuously variable valve timing motor, site officials also found the combined MPG for the vehicle increases to 23 in the city and 35 mpg on the freeway.

"The performance features of the Sonata also make the car a standout," NADAguides.com emphasized.

The site also noted that the safety features of the Sonata include electronic stability control and six standard airbags. NADAguides.com indicated that Hyundai expects the Sonata to receive a 5-star crash rating by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration as the materials used to protect the occupants of the Sonata consist of high-tensile materials and a steel hood inner frame to absorb collisions.

Finally, NADAguides.com shared that the starting price of the GLS is $19,195, while the fully loaded Limited with navigation starts at $27,395. The midpoint MSRP is for the Sonata SE at $22,595.
