For most data conversions you can’t get EVERYTHING out of the old system and in to the new so what I end up hearing a lot is, “Will I still be able to see/have that data after I cancel with them?” If they use a web/cloud-based provider the answer ends up being no, your data is gone when you cancel. That does not make it very easy on the dealer. It may be a question they need to ask prior to signing up for a DMS.
